A few years ago, my daughter was cast as “The Little Red Hen” in her 1st grade play at school. The music teacher asked me if I could provide some kind of “shirt/costume” for her to wear, stating that she only had a mask. This costume was incredibly easy and beginner friendly!
Materials:
- White sweat shirt
- White leggings
- White Socks
- Yellow Rit Dye
- Yellow and Red feathers
- Tacky Glue
Directions:
- Dye the white leggings and socks following the directions on the Rid Dye package.
- If desired, dye the sweater yellow as well. I chose not to.
- Lay the white sweater flat and beginning at the top, glue the feathers in a downward motion, alternating colors but being sure not to create a pattern. Cover the entire surface of the sweater, including arms and back.
- Hang sweater up to dry. Once dry, check work and see if any spots need more feathers applied. Apply as necessary.
